# What you need

What you need before installing.

## A GTA V Enhanced server

**Enhanced Cfx Server artifacts, not the Legacy FXServer set.** These are different builds with different numbering — Enhanced counts from 106, Legacy from around 25770 — and Nexus Core targets Enhanced only.

A Legacy server will appear to accept the install and will not work. Nothing can check this for you: the deployment recipe runs on a server that already exists, and installing the artifacts is yours to do.

Find your build on the last line of server startup:

## MariaDB or MySQL

Any recent version. The framework creates its own tables and applies its own migrations; you supply an empty database and a user that can create tables in it.

## oxmysql

The database driver. A permanent dependency — Nexus Core does not talk to the database directly.

## What you do NOT need

**`pma-voice`.** Enhanced's voice API is server-side, and pma-voice wraps client-side natives that are deprecated there. Voice will be handled by `nxc_voice`, which is not built yet. In the meantime Nexus Core does not touch voice at all, so use whatever you like — just be aware that a client-authoritative voice layer is a different trust model from the rest of the framework.

**`screenshot-basic`.** It ships unbuilt and needs a build toolchain that is not part of the Enhanced minimal set. Nothing in Nexus Core uses it.

## Sizing

No performance work has been done and no budget has been measured. The framework is designed for 250+ concurrent players; **that number is a target, not a measurement**, and nothing has run with more than one player on it.
